Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a geriatric care manager help get a dementia diagnosis?

A care manager does not diagnose dementia, but we work closely with you and your medical providers to make sure concerns are communicated clearly and an accurate diagnosis is pursued.

How do we know when it is time for memory care?

The answer depends on safety, care needs and how the family and care partners are coping. We help you assess the options, from added support at home to assisted living or memory care, and assist with the move if that is the right choice.

Do you also support family caregivers?

Yes. Caring for someone with dementia can be exhausting and emotional. We offer counseling and support, help with family dynamics and practical coping strategies for care partners.

Which areas do you serve?

We serve families in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County and across Southeast Michigan, including adult children who live out of state.
